Student/Parent Handbook Available Online
The 2012-13 OUSD Student/Parent Handbook is now available online. Printable PDF versions in both English and Spanish can be obtained by clicking on the links below. A hardcopy of this document may also be obtained at your child's school site or through the district's main or ESS offices.
Continuing the district's emphasis to educate the “whole child” beyond academics, our students and staff will be reviewing the 8 Keys of Excellence during the last weeks of school. Each month the district will utilize one of the 8 Keys of Excellence as a focal point for developing and enhancing character education.
Today's key for review is "Commitment." When you give your best effort to achieve your goals, how do you feel about yourself? How have others responded? Commitment teaches us to make our dream happen, take positive action, and follow our vision without wavering.

The OUSD Kids First initiative is off and running. Click Kids First to view the 8 Keys of Excellence, watch student videos and to learn more about this life-changing project and how you can get involved as a partner with the district.

Healthy Kids Parent Survey
All of our 7th graders have taken the California Healthy Kids Survey. This survey gathers information on school safety, culture, and climate from students, parents, and staff. We are asking all parents to participate in the survey over the next two weeks. We are asking that all grade level parents complete the survey. You can take the survey online (log-in information is available below). You may also pick up a paper copy of the survey from the school office in either English or Spanish to complete. Please turn in your completed survey to the front office. The collected data is very important in the development of our yearly Safe School Plan to make your school the safest and best school possible. Thank you for your participation.
